My name is EL and I identify as nonbinary. My pronouns are They/Them/Theirs. I’m vegan, a model, an activist as well as a musician.

I am a victor of Child Rape. From the ages 7-9 years, I was raped by a member of the family that was the intended caretaker. During those times I was recovering from an ice sculpture incident that severed my tongue off, successfully reattached at the Hospital, I had to relearn how to speak, taste, and express emotions without experiencing pain or discomfort. Contributing factors such as lack of communication, resources on prevention, education regarding the physical form as well as consent. I did not know what to do, I did not know what to say. During a Primary Relationship Education Guidance (Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) and Health Education) we were segregated by assigned gender mark (M) I will never forget when I became educated that what I experienced was rape, what followed was unfortunate, the educator conducting this course laughed and stated "boys and men do not get raped", I desired to rely that I was raped though after hearing everyone laugh that "boys do not get raped" I felt lost, terrified and invalid. As a teen I gathered the courage to relay to an adult that I was raped as a child, their response affected me tremendously, "Are you sure you were raped? Girls bodies are different from boys bodies, a girls experience is more traumatic" once more I felt lost, terrified and invalid. Education and prevention is essential to a successful future full of love, compassion, and respect.
